Latest NFL free agent signing proves Chiefs are comfortable with key offensive position

The Kansas City Chiefs had a glaring issue in their wide receiver room all last season and entering this offseason. They have since addressed it a bit by drafting wide receiver Xavier Worthy, but now other issues have risen, such as Rashee Rice's off-the-field issues, and we still don't know if he will be available in Week 1 or not.

Amidst the uncertainty surrounding Rashee Rice, the Chiefs have taken a measured approach, refraining from hastily signing another free-agent wide receiver. This strategic decision underscores their confidence in the current state of the room and their unwavering belief in the potential of their existing players.

On Tuesday, an AFC foe signed a pretty good wide receiver, and it kind of shows that the Chiefs are content with where they are. According to several reports, the Tennessee Titans have signed free agent wide receiver Tyler Boyd to a one-year, $4 million deal.

It's worth noting the Chiefs' financial prowess in this situation. The team could have easily afforded to sign the former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver. According to Spotrac, they currently boast a healthy $15 million in cap space, more than enough to offer Boyd a competitive deal.

Sure, the rivalry he had with the Chiefs in the last few years may have prevented him from going to KC, but the deal he signed with Tennessee is extremely cheap.

This tells me that the Chiefs may not have even made a deal because they are confident in what they have. And they should be. They won back-to-back Super Bowls with worse than what they currently have.
